If you decide, as usual, to get the version of Edge that Microsoft designates as current, you will receive the following message when installing it under Windows Server 2019 Core: Microsoft Edge works best with the latest Windows Updates. Once you download updates and restart your device, rerun the installer. The Windows platform downloads apply to all supported client and server releases of Windows. Learn more about supported Windows releases. Microsoft Edge follows the Modern Lifecycle policy. Learn more about supported Microsoft Edge releases. To download the Microsoft Edge Dev preview channel for Linux, please visit Microsoft Edge Insider. I'm running an instance of Windows Server 2019 on Amazon AWS, and need to sync some files. Apparently Windows Server 2019 comes with no traces of OneDrive (even though the OneDrive webpage recognizes my web client as Windows 10 and assures me that it should be installed), so I'm trying to install the app manually. The new Microsoft Edge is based on Chromium and was released on January 15, 2020. It is compatible with all supported versions of Windows, and macOS. With speed, performance, best in class compatibility for websites and extensions, and built-in privacy and security features, it's the only browser you'll ever need. Feb 17, 2020 However with our deployment being multi server, if a user hits a different server on each logon Edge prompts the first time run every time. I realise that Edge Chromium has only been released with Server 2019 compatibility a short time ago but i wonder if anyone had tried to do the same as us and experienced/ solved the problem. Thanks in advance.

Internet Explorer and older functionality
Note
Some older SharePoint functionality that relies on NPAPI or ActiveX will not work on browsers other than Internet Explorer. You can work around each of these issues by using Internet Explorer to perform these tasks.

Some functionality in SharePoint Server requires ActiveX controls. This produces limitations on browsers which do not support ActiveX. Currently only 32-bit versions of Internet Explorer support this functionality. In SharePoint Server 2016, all other supported browsers, including Microsoft Edge and the Immersive mode of Internet Explorer 10 have the following limitations.
For SharePoint Server 2016 and 2019, browsers other than Internet Explorer 11 have the following limitations.
