- The Awesome G56 Transmission by High Gear is a Heavy Duty G56 Transmission Designed for Hauling Heavy Loads.
- Replace the worn G56 transmission in your 2005.5-2012 Dodge 5.9L and 6.7L Cummins with an ATS Built G56 Transmission. ATS manual transmissions feature cryo-treated internals and other upgrades to address weak points in shafts, gears and synchros. Manual transmission can also be combined with clutch upgrades for mild or extreme power.
- The dual mass flywheel that Ram uses with the G56 transmission is a bad piece of automotive technology. Not only is the damper system too weak for the vehicle (it's barely capable of managing the stock torque of the Cummins), but it quickly fails as soon as power is added.
The G56 manual transmission was the last[1]manual transmission available in a full-size pickup truck.[citation needed] It is also the only manual transmission being optioned in Class-4 and Class-5 trucks.[citation needed] The transmission uses Mopar ATF+4 transmission fluid. Ram trucks began running this transmission in the 2005 model-year trucks as a mid-year change to phase out the cast-iron 6-speed New Venture Gear 5600 transmission.
